MPAEA 2012 Conference Scholarship Application

On December 13, 2011, the NAE Board of Directors voted to award up to 15 scholarships to its members for the upcoming Mountain Plains Adult Education Associations Conference to be held April 11-14 in Helena, Montana.

Nevada Adult Educators is offering a wonderful scholarship opportunity to adult educators.  This one-time scholarship will be used to pay the conference Early Bird registration fee of $195.00 for the upcoming Mountain Plains Adult Education Association’s Annual Conference, on
April 11-14, 2012, in Helena, Montana. (Note: Preconference fees will not be covered through this scholarship.)  Early Bird registration closes March 10, 2012.

This scholarship is available for adult educators to attend the April 2012 Mountain Plains Adult Education Association conference. The theme of this year’s conference is Implementing Career Pathways.  To apply, you MUST be a member of Nevada Adult Educators. Visit www.nvadulted.org to join!  Annual dues are just $35.00 per year. Scholarship recipients will be reimbursed for Early Bird registration fee of $195.00 upon receipt of report due May 15, 2012.

Then, complete and submit the scholarship application by March 1, 2012.  This scholarship is being offered on a first-come first-served basis.  There is a limited amount of funding, so get your application in early!

The Mountain Plains Adult Education Association (MPAEA) offers several scholarships each year. Deadline to submit is 11/15/09. Applicant must be a current member of MPAEA or submit a membership application when applying for these scholarships. Applications are posted at www.mpaea.org (click on “scholarships”). Scholarships available include:

Professional Development Scholarship — Up to $500 (one per state)

Purpose: To provide funds to attend conferences or other staff development activities during the MPAEA year (from beginning of the annual conference through the conference of the following year).

Teacher Innovation Scholarship — Up to $250  (one per state)

Purpose: To supplement direct instruction to students.

Larry B. Wickham Memorial Scholarship for Graduate Studies — Up to $1000  (just one for MPAEA)

Purpose: To fund tuition, books, and/or school related expenses for a graduate student enrolled in a graduate degree program in adult education or a closely related field in a college or university in one of the Mountain Plains states.

Nevada is represented on the MPAEA Board by NAE members Brad Deeds and Sharyn Yanoshak.
